U.S. Embassy Connects American and Mongolian Health Experts

The U.S. Embassy hosted a reception for American and Mongolian participants in the International Symposium on Emerging Infectious Diseases on May 15, in an effort to stimulate connections between American and Mongolian health experts.  Scientists and experts in human and animal infectious diseases and environmental health from the United States and Mongolia are presenting at the symposium being held in Ulaanbaatar, May 15-16.  The American participants are also touring local hospitals and educational institutions.  The symposium was organized by Dr. Khurelbaatar, Deputy Director of the National Center for Communicable Diseases in Ulaanbaatar and Dr. Gregory Gray, Director of the Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases and Professor at the University of Iowa’s College of Public Health in Iowa City.
