From New York City to the Nomadic Steppe: American Embassy Ulaanbaatar Welcomes the Battery Dance Company for Dance Programs that Cross Borders with their ‘’Moving Stories’’

U.S. Embassy Ulaanbaatar is bringing the Battery Dance Company, a leading New York City dance group, to Mongolia to conduct a series of master classes and workshops. Under the direction of Artistic and Executive Director Jonathan Hollander, the Battery Dance Company’s performances feature unusually eclectic and original choreography and music inspired by the world’s cultures and reflecting America’s own diversity. The upcoming programs are designed to promote intercultural understanding and exchanges, with inspiration and influences flowing in both directions.

In the United States, the Battery Dance Company has mentored over 200,000 public school students in various elements of modern dance. Its international youth programs are designed to build cross-cultural awareness, broaden minds, and inspire individual creative confidence. "The human body in motion is exceptionally stirring, and like music, the art of dance is a universal language. At best, dance resonates within the heart and soul of audiences of all types," says Hollander.
